Changing the way capital reaches communities

The GroundBreak Coalition aims to activate at least $2 billion over 10 years in ways that build community, increase wealth and improve lives in the Twin Cities. The group is made up of corporate, civic and philanthropic leaders committed to a racially equitable and carbon-neutral future.
Collectively, GroundBreak members such as the Bush Foundation will employ ways to make financial tools, products and capital available to those who have been excluded and limited from accessing them. The effort will focus on home ownership, rental housing, commercial development and Black, Indigenous and people of color entrepreneurship. GroundBreak is not a fund – it’s about fundamental change. It’s about doing the deeper, longer work of disrupting the status quo and unraveling policies and biases embedded in our systems to close the racial wealth gap.
