As Talent, Learning and Evaluation Director, Stephanie works to foster a culture of learning at the Foundation, making sure that evaluation activities and HR processes are simple and strategic with equity at their core. She loves having a job where it’s ok – even good – to realize that you know so much more today than you did yesterday. Stephanie came to the Bush Foundation in 2010 to manage the Foundation’s Teacher Effectiveness Initiative.
Before arriving at the Foundation, she spent over fifteen years in Minnesota state government, coordinating budget development and implementation for three governors and then serving as deputy commissioner of MN Management and Budget. Past experience also includes program evaluation at Abt Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts and legislative relations in both Washington D.C. and Minneapolis.
Stephanie has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree from Harvard Kennedy School and has been a Presidio Cross Sector Leadership Fellow and Humphrey Institute Policy Fellow. She is currently a board member with The Open Door and a member of MCF’s DEI committee. Stephanie and her husband, Jim, live and play in the Twin Cities with their two teenagers.
