Join us in celebrating Greg Keane, our longtime chief financial officer, who will be ending a storied chapter at the Foundation on January 31, 2023.
Greg's been with us since 2007. Time flies when you work with an amazing colleague like Greg, and we'll miss his deep knowledge, his passion for our work, his limitless generosity and his music trivia skills!
Greg has been integral to our mission, helping to guide our work through various changes while keeping a steady hand during uncertain times. In his tenure, he has seen us through changes in leadership, grantmaking approaches and the ups-and-downs of the financial markets.
During his time, Greg was instrumental in building our now $30 million program related investment (PRI) portfolio across 20+ organizations. He has been a teacher to many of us - in formal and informal ways - including offering a popular Finance 101 class for staff. (We will miss Professor Greg!)
At Bush, we don't see a distinction between our operations and our grantmaking when it comes to our impact. Greg exemplifies this. We think it is unusual for a CFO to be the relationship manager for more than 30 grantees, but Greg is an unusual CFO.
"Greg has been an incredibly important part of the Bush Foundation. He has led our finance team for 16 years, but he has also provided important leadership to many other areas of the Foundation at different times," shares Jen Ford Reedy, Bush Foundation president. "In all his work, Greg has always prioritized good stewardship and a deep care for our grantees and the communities they serve. We are excited for Greg as he reaches this milestone moment, and we will miss him greatly!"
We're grateful that Greg is helping us onboard our new managing director of investments and finance director & treasurer, both of whom were announced earlier. Most of all, it means we get to squeeze every last minute with him before he's off to his next life adventure!
