It's hard to believe that we're celebrating 70 years! Rolling back the clock, it was on February 24, 1953, that Archie and Edyth Bush started the Bush Foundation. It could be said, however, that the story of Foundation began long before, with Archie's keen interest in the everyday experiences of people and the many ways he helped individuals and organizations throughout his life.
As a 3M executive, Archie was skilled at navigating changing times; and with that mindfulness he established the Foundation with very few restrictions which has allowed us to have the flexibility needed to meet the challenges of our day – and make the biggest impact.
We are very grateful for the generosity of Archie and Edyth Bush and celebrate this milestone in honor of the tens of thousands of grantees, Fellows, partners and community members leading the change to make our region better for everyone.
