During these extraordinary times, we’re asking ourselves what the communities we serve need from us. We’re taking a hard look at everything we’re doing. Many of you know that we paused the Bush Prize in 2020, which allowed us to shift energy and resources into making our Community Innovation Grant program more open, equitable and responsive to community needs. In seeing how that played out, we have decided to cancel the Bush Prize again for 2021 and think carefully about its future.
We created the Bush Prize in 2013 as a way to lift up the inspirational stories of organizations that are courageously pushing against the status quo to do big things in partnership with their communities. Our commitment to our 42 past Bush Prize winners is unwavering! We are still incredibly inspired by them and will continue to share their stories and the latest and greatest of how they’re thinking bigger and thinking differently. For a dose of inspiration, check out our case studies and films about Bush Prize winners.
Even as this program transitions, our commitment to community-led problem solving remains unchanged. We invite anyone with a great idea to make our region better for everyone to check out our Community Innovation program.
