We're excited to announce that our board of directors recently elected Tony Heredia as chair and added two new board members: Ro Adebiyi and Armando Camacho.
Tony joined our board in 2012 and is currently the vice president of compliance, ethics and corporate security at Target Corporation. He has extensive experience in management and strategic planning, as well as a passion for helping people identify and address community issues. Learn more about Tony.
Ro Adebiyi was born in Nigeria and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, Ro attended law school there before moving to Minnesota as a senior staff member of the 2012 Obama Reelection Campaign. Ro currently is Senior Corporate Affairs Counsel at Thrivent Financial. Learn more about Ro.
Since 2014 Armando Camacho has served as president and CEO of Opportunity Partners, a nonprofit disability organization that helps advance the quality of life for people with disabilities. Previously, Armando was president of Neighborhood House in St. Paul, a district administrator for the St. Paul Public School District and a principal for the Minneapolis Public School District. Armando graduated from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor’s degree in special education and he holds a master’s degree in education. Learn more about Armando.
The board of directors sets the overall direction for our work and is responsible for major strategy and policy decisions. Ro and Armando will begin their service at the next quarterly board meeting in May.
