In his role as Controller, Matt is a key partner in maintaining and optimizing the Foundation’s finance processes, systems and internal controls, all in service to the Foundation’s grantees and in alignment with its purpose and operating values.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 2024, Matt spent nearly seven years at the Northwest Area Foundation. Additionally, Matt has had the great privilege of serving many of Minnesota’s largest foundations during his time in public accounting.
Matt has recently served as treasurer for the Minnesota Council on Foundations. He is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and entrepreneurship from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
