Kia is the Executive Assistant to the President and the Board of Directors. She manages the day-to-day activities in the Executive Office and serves as a support partner to the President and the Foundation board. She is usually the first person you’ll talk to in the Executive Office. She enjoys the many ways that she gets to see and support the Foundation’s work across the org.
Kia joined the Bush Foundation in 2014. She previously held the position of Leadership Development Coordinator before transitioning to her current role. Prior to the Foundation, she was the operations manager for a healthcare services consulting company and was the assistant to the executive team. Kia also worked at the cross-sections of the nonprofit and education sectors serving as a program coordinator where she managed law and conflict resolution programs for schools in the Sacramento County area.
Kia has two bachelor’s degrees in human resources development and family social science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She and her husband have three girls and one boy. Kia enjoys spending time with her family, including her big extended families, going on long walks and hitting the gym.
