The Talent & HR Manager leads processes and practices that ensure a diverse workforce and productive culture. Joni manages the Foundation’s hiring, selection and onboarding work; develops and interprets people-related policies and provides support, coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors.
Joni brings a deep curiosity and enthusiasm in continuing to progress equity within the various HR processes to this role. She is very humbled by the work of philanthropy and is inspired by its continuous focus to learn more and work beyond ourselves.
Prior to arriving at the Foundation, Joni spent time working with the US Veterans Affairs assisting veterans avoid foreclosure. Prior to that, she worked at the McKnight Foundation as the HR Generalist and Comp and Benefits Manager. Joni has a master’s degree in Public and Non-Profit Administration and was certified in Organizational Development at the University of Minnesota.
Joni grew up in Duluth and St. Paul and in her free time, you can find her running or hiking. She lives in St. Paul with her partner, son, and cat.
