Grant For Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi

Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi will develop and test a new model of Indigenous urban land stewardship by creating a co-management agreement with the City of St. Paul. This work innovates the spectrum of land back models by reclaiming Indigenous decision-making power over an urban sacred site through the leadership of a Native-led nonprofit. The ultimate aim of this work is to promote Indigenous self-determination by building capacity to restore, manage and steward lands.
