Woodbury, MN — Post-9/11 veterans seek disability benefits at more than double the rate of Gulf War vets. These men and women are also at a high risk for suicide, an act that reverberates through the families and communities who are left behind. Using my experience as a retired military officer, I will convene stakeholders to discuss the specific needs of post-9/11 combat veterans and their families, and to develop a streamlined system that allows veterans from all eras to receive the best services available with less duplication in the continuum of care.
