Minneapolis, MN — Nearly 70,000 Twin Cities residents with varying circumstances need assistance with self‐care tasks including bathing, dressing and grooming. We struggle to connect and build long‐lasting relationships with the 63,000 direct support professionals (e.g., home health aides, personal care assistants, homemakers, residential advisors, job coaches) empowering our independence. During my fellowship I will collaborate with community members to develop critical tools that assist individuals with chronic illness, disability and aging to efficiently recruit, screen, train, schedule and evaluate their support team members, and vice versa.
