Mom, wife, yoga instructor, and 2013 Bush Fellow Heidi Demars is the subject of a mini-documentary from OTA, produced as part of their OTA: Spotlight series, that highlights her efforts to help develop a community-owned food coop serving Bismarck and Mandan, North Dakota.
The BisMan Community Coop started in 2011 as a conversation between 35 people at a truck stop in Bismarck called the Oasis and has since grown to 600 member-owners.
The OTA: Spolight series is a partnership between OTA and Passenger, a film production company based in South Dakota, to create films spotlighting stories of creativity, innovation and boldness in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
