The Big Idea
Because of patient experience, communities in South Dakota are increasingly focused on potential impact of animal-borne illnesses. The Northeast South Dakota Area Health Education Center wants to encourage better communication and collaboration among veterinarians, health care providers and agricultural producers. The "SD One Health" initiative creates a central hub where the public health interests of the livestock, medical and veterinary communities intersect to promote a higher quality of care to South Dakota's human and animal populations.
